Lacy -- Comprehensive, Compassionate and USEFUL : In this edition (I have read another), Wendy Behary expands and refines concepts and skills necessary for therapists and laypeople who live with, work with or love someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. It helps the reader understand the spectrum of narcissism, and while conceptualizing the disorder compassionately, doesn't make excuses for the person with NPD. It gives practical guidance in numerous difficult and painful scenarios. Behary also helps the reader understand how their own history can trigger responses in us that make interacting with this personality type even harder. This addition addresses betrayal trauma (affairs, sexual compulsive behavior) since it is sometimes part and parcel of loving someone with NPD. I am both a therapist who treats NPD currently and someone who has been in many situations in my life with people with NPD. I highly recommend it!
